SBA Program

Brighter Green Consulting offers the National Sustainable Building Advisor Program in Victoria, Vancouver, Nelson, Regina and Toronto. The SBA program is offered in 28 locations in North America and has been running for over 10 years.

The SBA Program is designed to be National and Local at the same time. The course is offered nationally, but taught by local professionals. Students benefit from the very specific locality of the program as well as the national certification and standards. While the national course materials are updated yearly, the Guest Instructors are able to teach up- to-the-moment aspects of green buildings. This provides a unique forum for SBA students – they are in the company of those doing the work, rather than those teaching it. The relationships that result from the SBA are as important as the content of the program. Students graduate with a community of like-minded people from all areas of building: design, construction, policy, real estate, etc. As this community grows the impact on the built environment will also grow.

There are no specific pre-requisites for the program other than the desire to learn about building better, more energy efficient, healthy and cost effective buildings. Our graduates include Architects, Engineers, Realtors, Planners, Builders, Developers and many others; even those who want to change their careers or start a new one.

Best of all you will work with and get to know a group of people who have similar goals; a community of green building professionals in your local area.  After graduation, many of our students end up working together on a project, recommending each other for jobs and even hiring each other.
